In 2009, one of our dear friends, Jarrod Russell, became suddenly seriously ill. After weeks of not knowing what was wrong, the doctors finally told us he needed his heart removed and to have a heart transplant. Instead of using our energy towards worry and anxiety, we decided to form a nonprofit organization to raise money for his medical needs and to help others in the future that encounter catastrophic medical events.
After receiving 501(c)3 status from the IRS in 2010, we have been able to pay for the medical and life necessities Jarrod and his family could not have paid for otherwise. We aim to help others fund raise in the same style, so that healing and happiness are at the forefront and worrying about money can take a back seat.
Our organization focuses on helping those with the following catastrophic illnesses/events:
- Spinal Cord Injury
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Need for Organ Transplant
- Loss of Limb(s)
- Cancer
